The Baground of ICERC 2022 – The International Conference on Empowerment of Rural Communities (ICERC) is organized to realize cross-disciplinary collaboration. This conference involves domestic and foreign researchers and practitioners designed to enrich the study of rural community empowerment. In 2022, The ICERC is first held as a breakthrough in the change project of the Head of the Human Resources Development and Empowerment Agency for Rural Communities, Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration.
The Human Resources Development and Community Empowerment Agency of Villages, Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration is an institution that fosters The Community Self-Help Mobilizers or widely known as Penggerak Swadaya Masyarakat (PSM) with a total of 1,261 people per November 1, 2022, and a home for approximately 32,000 Professional Assistants or Tenaga Pendamping Profesional (TPP) spread across regions. In addition, The Human Resources Development and Empowerment Agency of Village Communities, Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration through The Community Development and Training Center of Villages, Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration collaborates with universities in carrying out a program called Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) and Rural Recognition of Past Learning or Rekoginisi Pembelajaran Lampau (RPL) Desa.
This conference is expected to be a meeting point for collaborative efforts for rural community empowerment in academic discussion rooms. Inspiration, collaboration, and innovation are three things that are expected to be able to encourage better rural community empowerment.
The conference will bring various experts in community empowerment to talk about villages in the present and future amid global changes. The conference invited researchers, academics, and village activists to contribute thoughts and suggestions. In addition, the conference is also a forum for interaction between professional associations and communities to be able to collaborate on village studies.
Purpose
The 1st International Conference on Empowerment of Rural Communities (ICERC) aims to :
- provide a forum for researchers, academics, PSM, TPP, and other parties to share experiences in rural community development
- obtain input and suggestions to improve the quality and outcome in the driving of community empowerment
- develop innovation and collaboration in rural community empowerment in formulating various strategies for driving community empowerment
- build collaboration and networks between various stakeholders to carry out community empowerment mobilization
